I built Applause to find a job. It worked.
I’m a product manager. When I started looking for my next role, I built a small tool for myself: something that told me which jobs I actually fit before I spent an evening on an application, and then helped me write one that was true.
Three months after I started building it, I got the job.
So I rebuilt it from the ground up for everyone else in the middle of a search. The idea is the same one that worked for me: apply where you fit, say only what’s true, and keep going.
Why there’s a free plan
Job hunting is hard enough, and plenty of people doing it are between paychecks. I want Applause to help, not to be one more bill. So you choose:
- Free. 3 tailored résumés and 10 cover letters or answer sets a month, plus the Chrome side panel, autofill, the tracker and job alerts.
- Free and unlimited with your own AI key. Add an Anthropic API key in Settings and draft as much as you like. You pay Anthropic directly, about 20 cents a résumé, and nothing to us.
- Pro, $12 a month. We cover the AI, check the pages you follow more often and alert you the moment a match appears. Pro is what keeps Applause running for everyone else.

What Applause will never do
- Invent experience. Every line it writes comes from your profile, and every claim is checked.
- Submit an application or send an email for you. You stay in charge.
- Sell your data or share it with recruiters, employers or job boards. The privacy page says exactly what happens to it.
