How to get your résumé past Workable
Workable is an applicant tracking system popular with small and mid-sized companies. Its job pages usually live at apply.workable.com.
Applying through Workable
- Applications are short: résumé, details and any company questions.
- Some companies ask for a cover letter in a text box. A short, specific one beats a template.
- A clean PDF or Word file with real text parses well.
Applause can follow Workable careers pages for you: paste a company’s Workable careers page into Discover and we’ll check it, rank new postings against your profile, and tell you when a strong match appears.
What works in every ATS
Use the posting’s words
Recruiters search inside the ATS by keyword. Where the posting says “stakeholder management” and you did it, say “stakeholder management”, not “worked with partners”.
Put key skills in two places
Once in a skills block near the top, and once in a bullet that proves it. That’s how both a filter and a human find it.
Match the title, honestly
Use the job title’s words in your headline if they fit your level. Never claim a level above yours.
State your years
“Product manager with 8+ years” in the summary is read literally by filters and recruiters alike.
Keep the layout plain
One column, standard headings, real text. No tables, text boxes, images or key details in headers and footers.
Send the right file
PDF or Word both work in modern systems. When a form accepts Word, it’s the safest choice for older ones.
